i walk around in the solar field. from here, the surrounding beams look like cylinder­thick, motionless rain or comet tails painted onto the sky. the tower is all white because the sunrays are pointing directly at it, white in an erased way, like if you leave an empty patch on a drawing, and surrounded by a halo. i go over to one of the sun mirrors. it’s huge and darkish and cold when i touch it. i don’t know if it’s cold and immune to the sun or transfixed in a much more extreme way than the desert. a solar plant can take much more sunlight. it has direct access, like a clip through into the thing outside. the widest zone, like the highest point when it’s lightning. the sunlight is magnetic. intense heat from the mantle pushing against the crust to get closer to the sun.

harry j galt als einer der wichtigsten produzenten jamaikas, betätigte sich aber auch selbst als musiker. mit seinen allstars genannten studiomusikern brachte er drei instrumental-alben heraus. das debüt gibt es jetzt als re-release auf vinyl in 180g. *liquidator* erschien 1969 und wurde vor allem in großbritannien ein großer erfolg. der titeltrack zählt zu den wichtigsten songs der damals entstehenden skinhead-kultur und schaffte es auf platz 9 der uk singles charts. weitere highlights auf *liquidator* sind die rocksteady/reggae-versionen des beatles-songs *dont let me down* und des bardot/gainsbourg-duetts *je t aime*. in seinem harry j studio nahmen u.a. bob marley & the wailers auf. dort empfing harry auch musikgrößen wie die rolling stones, the who oder grace jones.

one of the most respected producers in the underground, anaxander, contributes two beautiful pieces of original music, and has one of them reworked by deep house heavy hitter, the mighty amir alexander. lost my soul (in yours) is twisted little number, with dual synth riffs echoing off each other for maximum effect. a question about you uses jazzy chords and flutes over its undeniable bassline to retain some soulful flavoring, but amir strips all of that away on his interpretation, preffering instead to let the acid and the warehouse vibes have their way, taking things right into a 6am rave nightmare. this is absolute must-have piece of wax!

back in stock on 25.02.2016 , arapu has maintained a steady flow of releases over the past few years and hes one of the usual suspects in the underground scene. his elegant mixture of housy elements on a techno backbone gained him early support from his peers. successful stints on labels like memoria, crazy jack, motif and mrr led him to confidently start his own outlet. liniar debuts with a three tracker from the man himself.
broken grooves are almost always present in arapus productions and pitfall is no different. with a trippy synth that goes all the way and effected voices to go along, this track rules the night and the whole a side.
two tracks found their way on the b side and their flavour is quite different. escape is a pure deep house gem, and a clear indication of arapus soulful influence. extremely danceable and super uplifting, this track brings the summer back. wasting on the other hand is dark and has a dirty broken tech groove. this track may seem toolish but it s a monster when it hits.
